Mr. Preston Parker, President
Abuse Center for Children
123 Creative Way
Logan, UT 84341
Dear Mr. Parker,
Tennyson Center for Children is dedicated to making people aware of child abuse and decreasing the shameful act. Strengthening and serving children and families in the community is our number one goal.
We invite you to invest in our special project to improve our community. We would recommend you donate $25,000 a year, which would make you a visionary champion. The money that you donate guarantees that children will be cared for and will return safely to the community. Visionary Champions receive their names carved into a decorative "confetti brick" and placed on the grounds of the center
The Problem: “Child abuse is reported on an average of every 10 seconds and three children die every day as a result of such abuse. Sadly, Colorado has one of the highest rates of child abuse in the country. According to the National Child Abuse & Neglect Data System (NCANDS), Colorado ranks 3rd in the nation for deaths resulting from child abuse. Further compounding the problem, Colorado’s state funding to help battle child abuse ranks among the lowest in the nation.” (http://www.childabuse.org/about%20child%20abuse.html).
“The children we serve at Tennyson Center have, on average, been in 5.8 placements outside their home. Many have been traumatized by abuse, neglect and unstable home environments. Providing these children with a safe and secure setting is essential to their healing and success.”
The Solution: After children attend Tennyson Center for Children, over 80% return to safer homes within the community. Also, 75% of those children successfully evolve into public schools, and 84% of families are satisfied with the services provided.
Budget Request: With the demonstrated concern that you’ve shown towards children being abused, we are requesting a donation of $25,000 per year. Your donation would be greatly appreciated and will touch the lives of many children.
We hope to hear from you soon. Please come visit us and see how your donation would be used. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Old Maids of the Tennyson Center for Children

I let the same comment in Stephine's, but be careful when you are writing this letter. It's not in topic paragraphs, it a letter, so I wouldn't label the paragraphs. Other then that it is very well put together.
great idea, this is a really great cause and you explained in and sold it really well.
I like how you "invited" them to donate and also thought the statistics you provided made it closer to home. I think adding a quote is good but it doesn't say who said it. Other than that, it is put together very nice.
good job supporting yourself....way to throw in the stats...remember to change the form for the final
