The King is Gone

Los Angeles—Michael Joseph Jackson died at 11:37 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, at the young age of 48. At the time of death, Michael was undergoing breast augmentation surgery at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. While still under investigation, it is believed that the cause of death is with complications with anesthesia.

Michael, son of Joseph and Katherine Jackson, was born on August 29, 1958 in Gary Indiana. He was the seventh of nine children. In 1994, he married Lisa Marie Presley, but later divorced. He, again, married in 1996 to Debbie Rowe. They had a son, Prince Michael Joseph Jackson jr., and a daughter, Paris Michael Katherine Jackson. They too divorced.

At the age of five, Michael began his successful music career as the lead singer of the Jackson 5. His success continued to grow until his passing. He was involved in several foundations including: Childhelp USA, Make-A-Wish-Foundation, Starlight Foundation, and several others, as we all know how much he loved helping others. Michael is known for many trend-setting moves. His one glove and moon walk. At the end of the 1980's, Michael was named 'Artist of the Decade' for his very successful albums.

Michael is survived by his ex-wives Lisa Marie Presley and Debbie Rowe, his parents, Joseph and Katherine and also by his siblings, Sigmund, Toriano, Jermaine, Marlon, Steven, Rebbie, Janet and La-Toya. Michael will be very missed by the world for his music and love for everyone.
