Extra Practice News Story 3: Crime

Logan – Logan City Police responded to a call early on January 31, 2007, regarding a burglary at a Logan LDS Church, located on the corner of 16th E. and 900 S. Two CPU’s were taken out of Bishop Lawrence Shirk’s office sometime between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. Two monitors were found and destroyed in the hallway.

Police believe the suspects went through a window, left open by Shirk, and took these two items. Robert Knotz, who is over the maintenance for this building, is the one who discovered the break-in.

Evelyn Breathwaite, a neighbor who lives across the street from the church, heard noises coming from the building around 1:45 a.m. “I thought it was a garbage truck,” she stated.

Police are still investigating the scene and believe the two suspects could be juveniles. If you know anything of who may have committed this crime, please contact the Logan City Police Department at 716-9300.
