Practice News Story - 1 Accident

A fatal accident on Interstate 84 west occurred on January 17 around 4 p.m. A van carrying 10 Utah State University students and one instructor from Utah State University rolled on Interstate 84. The van was traveling west bound, at about 80 miles per hour, returning from Tremonton and was the only vehicle involved.

Kyle Holden, who manages a farm implement store the students were at earlier, was passing the van when it rolled of the freeway. “The van spun sideways and started rolling. Bodies were everywhere.” Kyle stated.

Several fatalities have occurred, but the victim’s names are unknown. Lieutenant Ed Michaud, the first of law enforcement to arrive on the scene, stated “This was one of the worst things I’ve had to be part of in 15 years.”

Very nice. The best thing I noticed was the detail in which you described the direction the van was traveling in and how fast it was going.

The opening paragraph is kinda choppy, may want to make it flow a little more. "Of" should be "off" and it kinda has an abrupt ending. Other than that, it was very informative, nice writing.

Good job. I liked how you added a lot of detail into your story. It really helped paint a picture of what was going on.
