Dear Mr. Parker,
Healing Center for Children is dedicated to making people aware of child abuse and decreasing the shameful act. Strengthening and serving children and families in the community is our number one goal.
We invite you to invest in our special project to improve our center’s community. We would recommend you donate $25,000, which would make you a visionary champion. The money that you donate guarantees that we will be able to build a safe play center for the children and a state of the art computer lab with new programs to teach web design and computer programming. Child abuse is reported on an average of every 10 seconds and three children die every day as a result of such abuse. Sadly, Utah has one of the highest rates of child abuse in the country and ranks high in the nation for deaths resulting from child abuse. Further compounding the problem, Utah’s state funding to help battle child abuse ranks among the lowest in the nation.
The children we serve at Healing Center have, on average, been in 5.8 placements outside their home. Many have been traumatized by abuse, neglect and unstable home environments. Providing these children with a safe and secure home during these crucial years of their personal development is essential to their healing and success.
After children live in the Healing Center for Children, over 80% are placed in safe homes with in the community, close to the center to receive counseling. Also, 75% of those children successfully evolve into a normal routine.
With the demonstrated concern that you’ve shown towards children being abused, we are requesting a donation of $25,000 to finalize our building project. Your donation would be greatly appreciated and will touch the lives of many children.
We hope to hear from you soon. Please come visit us and see how your donation would be used. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Kelsie Knudsen, president
Kelly Rigby, vice president
Stephanie Bassett, secretary

This prospectus letter brought tears to my eyes that I have pride in displaying. How could I hide my emotions when such beauty is displayed in such abundance. This was your assignment ... yes, but you have created a masterpiece. Godspeed.
In both your proposal letter and speech, you have the major elements included and cover the details as needed.
I would make it more explicit what the target audience is going to get out of this. yes, you mention all the effects that the money with produce, but you never say what the client will receive (news story, mention in the newsletter, warm fuzzies, etc.). It's good to explicitly bring those out.
This is very impressive. I like the angle that you guys took. Plus anything that has to do with kids gets anyone.
