A TRAGIC ACCIDENT ON INTERSTATE 84
Posted 8:17 p.m. MST, April 18, 2007
TREMONTON, Utah – On April 18, 2007 around 4:00 p.m., a Utah State University van rolled off Interstate 84. The van, carrying ten USU students and one instructor, was heading back to Logan. Seven fatalities have been reported; while the remaining four were taken to nearby hospitals. Mechanical malfunctions and high rate of speed may have been a contributing factor in this fatal accident.
This group of students, belonging to the School of Agriculture at USU, had traveled to a farm implement store in Tremonton. Kyle Holden, manager of the store and a friend of Evan Parker, witnessed the accident. Holden was passing the van, when he glanced over at the same time the left rear tire blew. He believes there was too much weight and the vehicle was too big for Parker to gain control.
Police Lieutenant, Ed Michaud and his partner Jason Jensen, were the first law enforcement on the scene. Michaud stated, “This is one of the worst I’ve seen in my fifteen year career.” It appeared that the men in the van were in their 20’s and were not wearing seatbelts.
A memorial service at USU is being organized for the friends, families and students, held in honor of the men who were lost.

Great job! You got some great deatail into your story. The only thing I might suggest would be to explain who Evan Parker is. Other than that, awesome work!
