LOS ANGELES – Beating the Los Angeles Clippers 106-99, Friday night’s game was the second victory this week for the Jazz. Carlos Boozer and Derek Fisher had the help from some of the younger players to win this very close game.
In the final minute, tied at 97, Coach Jerry Sloan calls a couple different plays to drive the ball to Mehmet Okur. Okur throws the ball making a three-point basket. There was no looking back for the Jazz, leading them to the final score of 106.
In the first quarter, Clippers lead the Jazz 22-13, and the momentum continued into the second quarter. However, the Jazz turned the game around in the third quarter, leading the Clippers by 10 points. The third quarter usually names the game for the Jazz, as if they had just started a new game.
Derek Fisher, who had previously played for the Golden State Warriors said, “We just take one game at a time.” Fisher had 12 points, 15 assists and a couple of steals. Paul Millsap, who had 15 points and 7 rebounds stated, “When he [Okur] sank that 3 pointer, it felt great.”
“Every loss is hard … some nights I’m not playing my best … we just need to pick up each others slack.” Elton Brand stated. Brand scored an amazing 33 points for the Clippers.
